Steeger St. Jost Riesling “S” 2014
This wine, produced from the grapes of the St. Jost vineyard, is a cellar “selection” (S) of the best batches, usually harvested at a late ripening stage. Almost a late harvest. The exposure of the vineyard is optimal, to the south, with a slope of 70%. The soils are mainly composed of blue schist (slate) and light sand from volcanic eruptions around 10,000 years ago. The “feinherb” type, a compromise between a dry and sweet wine, provides a hint of sweetness (10 gr./lt. sugar res.). At sight it is straw yellow, bright, with gold reflections. The bouquet is characterized by the exuberance of Riesling, ripe notes of white peach, elderflower and orange blossom, quince, grapefruit and lychee. A soft and enveloping palate, elegant texture, distinguished by a subtle sweetness. Long
